Online questions
We have been getting alot of questions posted from online with no return email addresses. This makes it difficult to respond. I figured I would try to cover some bases for those of you starting out.
If you are interested in trying taxidermy out, go to the mothership
http://www.taxidermy.net/ and look for a video on the type of taxidermy you want to try. Those videos give you some good info. We are in the process of making a rogue's guide which will be available for simple questions (slated for Fall 06).
Now to specifics: If you found a dog's head (or any dead animal) and want to have the skull for your house and don't want it to stink...well you can get some de-fleshing beetles, leave it water until all the flesh slops off or contact a local professional (taxidermist) and ask them to do it.
now if you a thirteen year old girl interested in taxidermy, don't worry what people think of your interest. keep pushing. And you should not be worried about the "yearly earning potential". For all you know you could work at a natural history museum, be an artist, be a corporate leader with a hobby....
Also, some members are busier than others. If you find you are unable to reach one, try to contact us through the MART site and we can point you towards another member who can help out.
