WHAT IS M.A.R.T?
The Minnesota Association of Rogue Taxidermists (M.A.R.T) is an artist collective of individuals who share a common philosophy and passion. The group was created as a means to connect with other artists working in taxidermy related mediums and has since proven to be an invaluable resource for networking with others working in this realm. All members adhere to a strict ethics charter, using only animals procured in an ethical and environmentally responsible manner. Our mission is to bring like-minded artists together from here and abroad to unite under the genre of Rogue Taxidermy, but most importantly M.A.R.T. is in existence to create dialogue, evoke thought, educate, and expand people's horizons. We are here to exchange ideas with not only other artists, but anyone who is interested in this art form.

PRIMARY DIRECTIVE OF MART
M.A.R.T membership mandates that no animals are killed for the purpose of making art. All animal materials used by members are procured in an ethically and environmentally responsible manner. Members salvage their materials from a number of sources, some of which include roadkill, discarded livestock remnants, casualties of the pet trade, animals that die of natural causes, and destroyed nuisance animals that are donated to them. If members had not recycled these materials they would have been simply discarded by other individuals. Out of respect for the animal members also pledge to use as much of the animal as possible and never to be wasteful or take the animal for granted.
